Dundee University Campus Life

Accommodation options at Dundee University are excellent and the cost of living is very reasonable, making it one of the best deals in the UK for higher education. Well-equipped, en-suite rooms are available in halls, or in private accommodation in self-contained flats nearby.

Student facilities and services are exceptional at the Dundee University Student's Association (DUSA), a recently refurbished entertainments complex, which features a restaurant, bars, games area, and an interactive iwall. In addition, Dundee University also boasts an excellent library, quality sports facilities and very good student support services.

The city of Dundee

Dundee itself lies on the River Tay in Scotland’s east and comes with a generous range of eateries and numerous bars and clubs in every budget range. Other nightly entertainment options include the theatre and live music, while the shopping rivals that of any UK university city.

Dundee also boasts dozens of parks and green areas and city attractions are a combination of historical treasures and quality museums and galleries. Discovery Point is perhaps Dundee’s best known sight; it contains Captain Scott’s Royal Research Discovery ship of early 19th century Antarctic fame.

Student Loans

Dundee University is allowed to charge UK non-Scots between £1,700 and £1,900 per year. Scottish and EU students from outside the UK will have their fees paid for them by the SAAS (Student Awards Agency for Scotland) but will have to pay the Graduate Endowment upon successful completion of their degree. Student loans are the best option for covering tuition fees and day to day living costs as interest rates are traditionally low and repayments don't start until graduated students are in work and are earning over £15,000.
