Exeter University Campus LifeThe campuses at Exeter University have a cracking location near the beautiful Devonshire countryside and the pristine south English coast, as well as being on the doorstep of the bustling city of Exeter. Accommodation is in halls (where all first year undergraduates will be guaranteed a room), self-catering purpose-built flats, shared houses and self-contained family flats.Much of the accommodation is in or near the campuses, meaning close proximity with the social goings on of Exeter University, including the many lecture rooms, and cafes and bars. In addition, the Students' Guildand libraries are excellent, while sporting facilities include tennis courts, squash courts, a fitness studio and a physiotherapy suite.
The city of ExeterExeter is an attractive and historic town and the many students add plenty of pizzazz. Situated on the banks of the river Exe, Exeter is easily explored on foot and the lovely Quayside area is the focus, with its many interesting shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.The intriguing medieval St Peters cathedral is one of the highlights of the town for history and lovers of architecture, while nearby are the solitary Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks, lying to the west and north respectively. The beaches are just to the south, with the likes of Dawlish and Torquay being major summer attractions.
Student LoansExeter University is allowed to charge new, full-time students up to £3,000 a year for tuition fees from September 2006. Many students will apply for a student loan to cover their tuition fees and day to day living costs. Student loans are the best option for borrowing money for college as interest rates are traditionally low and repayments don't start until graduated students are in work and are earning over £15,000.
