Greenwich University Campus Life

The three campuses at Greenwich University serve southeast London right the way through to Kent and The Kings Hill Institute in West Malling. Maritime Greenwich Campus is the main institute, while Medway has the bulk of the sporting facilities.

The level of student welfare facilities and services is excellent, owing to the popular University of Greenwich Students' Union, while the well-equipped library features self-service machines at all campuses. Facilities for eating and socializing at Greenwich University are also very good, with many cafes and restaurants and a number of shops nearby.

The Borough of Greenwich

Greenwich itself is situated just south of the River Thames and boasts a large amount of greenery and history. The area is loaded with world class attractions, including: the Cutty Sark, the world’s only surviving tea clipper; the Thames Barrier, the world’s largest moveable flood barrier; the controversial yet awe-inspiring Millennium Dome, the largest of its kind in the world, and of course the Greenwich Observatory, where Greenwich Mean Time splits East and West.

In addition to these quality attractions, the Greenwich Market is one of London’s most popular markets, with everything on offer from antiques to modern crafts. The Friday night Farmers Market features a dazzling range of cheeses, fruits, vegetables and meat, while as an aside there are numerous traditional pubs and bars in the area.

Student Loans

Greenwich University is allowed to charge new, full-time students up to £3,000 a year for tuition fees from September 2006. Many students will apply for a student loan to cover their tuition fees and day to day living costs. Student loans are the best option for borrowing money for college as interest rates are traditionally low and repayments don't start until graduated students are in work and are earning over £15,000.
